Team accomplishment: company-wide ISO certification increases Testo’s performance worldwide

Quality management is indispensable for a company’s competitiveness. In order to be able to guarantee optimum processes worldwide, it is important to the Testo AG that structures and processes are identical within a company. And so it is: Testo has been certified to ISO 9001 company-wide since October 2006. Among the first Testo subsidiaries at this point were Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, China (Shenzhen) and the USA. They participated representatively for the other subsidiaries in the audit carried out by Germanischer Lloyd – all with excellent results.

“We want to guarantee the same product and service quality throughout the world” Andreas Werner, Manager of Quality Management, explains. The first step was to link all of the subsidiaries with SAP. “Successful certification is always the overall performance of all employees because it is important to speak a common language”, Werner emphasizes. He is particularly proud of the fact that the subsidiaries are linked for the first time. “By linking our subsidiaries, we are making optimum use of synergy effects.”

TEAM SYSTEMATIZATION
“The certification process has welded together our employees says Jean-Pierre van der Kelen, CEO of Testo Belgium. “It was a team achievement. Before this, we knew that it worked but didn’t know how”. Van der Kelen sums up the benefits of a quality management system. Now everyone knows what is being talked about, regardless in which project or at what stage. “There is chaos in every company without systematization. Clear structures are necessary in order to be efficient”. And van der Kelen is convinced that they exist within the whole Testo AG.
